Location
Directions from Whitby, York and Pickering:-
- A64 to Whitby & Pickering
- At the roundabout at Pickering second exit A169
- Continue through Sleights
- Take first exit at roundabout for A171 to Guisborough
- Approx 5 miles take left hand turn for Lealholm and Glaisdale (Large green road sign) on bend
- Follow road up & down hill into Lealholm village
- At bottom of hill in Lealholm pass pub ("THE BOARD") at bridge over River Esk
- From pub up hill ¼ mile first right for Great Fryupdale
- Pass farm "Wild Slack" (pond on left hand side) turn right at the end of lane
- Immediately left for Great Fryupdale ¾ mile along road on left on roadside Hollin Hall (small sandstone farmhouse and stables)
Directions from Guisborough:-
Take the A171 moor road towards Whitby for about 7 miles.
Turn right for Danby follow the road to village down a steep bank & hair pin bend.
Approx. ½ mile on Danby Moors Centre is on your right. Carry on, passing under the railway bridge where the road bends left (a ford and pack horse bridge "Duck Bridge" lies to your right) .
Approx. 1 mile on take the next right sign posted Fryup & Glaisdale.
Approx. ½ mile on take next left signposted Glaisdale.
Approx. ¾ mile on take next right at stone mounted sign for Great Fryupdale.
Hollin Hall Ride & Drive is approx ¾ mile on the left.
